December 29, 1923 — March 21, 2014

MR. ALBERT  HAYWOOD, JR.,  90 of TROY, NC died Friday, March 21, 2014.  Funeral Services will be held 1pm Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Troy Chapel AME Zion Church, 130 Barnhill St., Troy, NC 27371 with Visitation to held 12 noon to 1pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will Full Military Honors will follow in the Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC 28001.

He was born on December 29, 1923, in Montgomery County to the late Albert Haywood Sr, and Lena Gillespie Haywood.  He attended Peabody High School.  "June", as he was fondly called, was a WWII veteran and a lifelong member of the DAV. June loved fishing and people.  Preceding him in death are 3 brothers and two sisters.

Those left to cherish his memories are one son, Albert Cecil Haywood and wife Pam of China Grove, NC and one daughter, Nora Ann Houston of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Dudley Haywood and wife Sandra of Greensboro, NC; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Calleen Haywood of Troy, NC; a very special friend, Sherry Ingram, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
