MRS. ALMA LUE MOBLEY MONROE, 88 of WAXHAW, NC passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 9904 Andrew Jackson Rd., Waxhaw, NC, Mrs. Monroe remains will lie in repose 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or a facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday, September 20, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Monroe, Mobley and extended families.
Alma Lue Mobley Monroe , the daughter of th late Daisy Mobley Huey and the late Jake Reed, was born on January 5, 1933, and departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
Alma Lue joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age, where she served on many auxillaries. She truly loved God and her church family.
Alma Lue was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Joseph Monroe for 70 years. Out of this union, one beautiful daughter was born, Albertha Monroe.
Mrs. Alma Lue Monroe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and confidant. She treasured the bond of family and will be forever remembered for her kind and gentle spirit.
Alma Lue was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Foster; three brothers, Ezell Reed, Robert Reed and Bart L. Reed; brother-in-law, Richard Monroe.
Those left to cherish fond memories are her husband, Joseph Monroe; one daughter, Albertha Monroe Hill (David); one grandson, Steth Monroe (Quanda); one great-granddaughter, Bayleigh Monroe; two sisters, Margaret Morrow and Estelle R. Coffey; three brothers, Columbus Reed, Willie Reed and Grady E. Reed; sisters-in-law, Lillian Montgomery, Edith Thonas (Wilson) and Katie Pitman (Clarence) and Anna Monroe; brothers-in-law, Lacy Monroe (Ida) and Ernest Monroe (Wilma); two very special nephews, Ricky Williams (Lois) and Dale O'Leary; god-daughter, Barbara McGee Torrence (Melvin); god-granddaughter, Angela McDowell Boyd (DeCarlos); a lifetime friend to whom she spoke with on a daily basis, Rosa Lee Hayden of Neward, NJ; very close cousinsm Louise Mobley, Sam Mobley, James Mobley, Aaron Mobley, Sr., and Farmer Mobley.
