Barbara Ann (Mcrae) Robinson

MRS. BARBARA ANN McRAE ROBINSON, 66 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.   Funeral service will be 1p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Chestnut A.M.E. Zion Church, 7093 Grassy Island Road, Mount Gilead, NC 27306 with the Rev. Curtis McRae, Eulogist,  Interment will be in the Mount Airy A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery.

Barbara Ann  was born on Thursday, February  3, 1949,  in Richmond County, North Carolina, to Celia Mae Little McRae and the late George Thomas McRae.  She departed this earthly life on Friday, April 30, 2015.

She was educated in the public schools of Richmond County and was a member of Mt. Airy A.M.E. Zion Church.  She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, George "Buster" McRae, and one nephew, Michael.

She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to her husband of 40 years, Charlie Robinson of Mount Gilead, NC; one daughter, Patrina Ratliff of Albemarle, NC; her mother; Celia McRae  Mount Gilead, NC;  one sister; Evelyn Jean McRae, Centreville, VA; two brothers; James Richard "Ned" McRae of Mount. Gilead, NC and William (Cathy) Robinson of Ellerbe, NC ;  2 grandsons, Laquavius and LaQuinton;  two great-grandchildren; one aunt, Gladys (William) Little of Mount Gilead, NC; five uncles; Rev. Curtis (Millie) McRae of Oxford, NC; Ralph (Elaine)  McRae of Laurel, Maryland and Kelly (Janie) McRae of Mount Gilead, NC, Jessie Roan of Virginia and A.L. Little of Troy, NC  She assisted in raising her " beloved children ", Johnny (Angela) Bruton, Diedre, Joyce (Anthony), Pamela, Denise (Leo), Detavius; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Keith) Bogan of Ellerbe, NC and Mae Catherine Thomas of Plainfield, NJ; one nephew, William;  four nieces, Antoinette (Roderick), Stephanie (Jerome), Natasha and Ashley; special friend, Kent Montgomery of Mt. Gilead, NC,  and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, two great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Public viewing will be Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Mount Gilead, NC, from 1pm to 7 p.m.
