MR. BENNIE LEE HEATH, 67 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Peak Resources in Charlotte, NC.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe, NC.

Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC is serving the Heath, Patterson and extended families.

Son of Magenia Patterson Heath and the late Lee Lester Heath,  was born on Tuesday, May 1, 1956 in Monroe, NC.

Bennie was also known as " Rat " to his childhood friends. Bennie served in the United States Army after attending high school.  Upon his return, he became employed with the City of Monroe's Water Resources Department and Manetta Mills for several years.

Bennie was known for his giving heart, often giving his last to those in need, his effortless humor and kindness.

Left to cherish Bennie's memories are; his mother, Magenia Heath; three sons, Donovan Cureton (Sharell) of Columbia, SC, Bennie Heath, Jr., and Adam Heath, Both of Sanford, NC;  two brothers, Wayne Heath of Durham, NC and  Calvin Heath of Monroe, NC; three sisters, Shirley Heath and Theresa Heath, both of Monroe, NC and Frankie Heath of Marshville, NC; one uncle, Herbert Barcus (Sheila) of Irvington, NJ;  four aunts, Mary Barcus of Newark, NJ, David L. Cooper of Hillside, NJ, Betty Cokley of Nesmith, SC and Virginia B. Canteen of Scranton, SC  six grandchildren, LaNaijah heath, Aniyah Heath, both of Monroe, NC, Taliah Camur, TaSean Coston, Javion Cureton and Ariael Cureton, all of Columbia, SC; special friends, Linda "Sissy" Walker, Geneva Livingston and Willie Byrd, all of Monroe, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
