MRS. BETTY FRANCIS LUCILLE WYNN, 75 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe, NC.  Entombment will follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 19, 2021 Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Wynn, Thompson and extended families.

Betty Francis Lucille Thompson Wynn , the daughter of the late George Russell Thompson and Augusta McLarty Thompson, was born on February 15, 1946 in Ella Fitzgerald Hospital, Monroe, North Carolina

Betty joined Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 55 years old and was an active member serving  on the choir until declining health..  She attended Winchester Avenue School.  She was a housewife as well as an entrepreneur.  She was known as the candy and ice cream lady on Icemorelee.  She loved cooking and baking. Betty was really industrious learning  to cook and sew her own clothes in the fifth grade.  She and her husband understood the meaning of self-sufficiency.  They grew their own vegetables, sharing their harvest with neighbors.  She was a fashionista.  She loved  polishing her nails and straightening  and marcel curling hair.  She was full of life and love.!  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Wynn.

She leaves  to cherish loving and fond memories to her son; James Maurice "Reece" Wynn; three daughters, Yvette Wynn, Beverly Wynn and Celena D. Wynn, all of Monroe, NC; two sisters, Peggy Kelly of Wilmington, NC and Mary Benfield of Monroe, NC; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Cierra, Latreese, Octavia, Erica, Sharif and Kendrick; 16bgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Shirley Williams of Monroe, NC; brother-in-law, David Wynn (Jane) of Richmond, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
