Beverly Joyce Mckinney

MISS BEVERLY JOYCE McKINNEY, 63 of MT. GILEAD, NC passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Snow Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, 204 Snow Hill Church Rd., MT. Gilead, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm  Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC.

Beverly was born on Friday, December 21, 1956 in Montgomery County, NC to the late Jesse James McKinney Sr., and  Mildred Ingram McKinney.  She exchanged time for eternity on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

She will be cherished and missed but remembered as a strong and outgoing person   She was a member of Snow Hill AME Zion Church and a 1975 graduate of West Montgomery High School.

Beverly worked in the textiles industry throughout her life. Her interests included African culture and the arts.. Many will forever remember her smile and willingness to help others.

Beverly was the loving mother of three sons, Antwan (LaShonda)  McKinney of Greensboro, NC,  Corey McKinney of Troy, NC, and Preston McKinney of Asheboro, NC; 8 brothers, Jesse McKinney, Jr., Robert McKinney, Vernon  McKinney, Willie McKinney  Samuel McKinney, Daniel McKinney, Barry McKinney and Ray McKinney (Gina); 3 sisters, Alice Miller, Teresa McKinney and Catherine Bennett (Bobby) .

Beverly helped raise two grandchildren Jamaira and Antwan Allen of Winston Salem NC and a host of grandchildren and two great-grandchildren cousins and other relatives and friends.
