Bill Ray Hinson was born to the late Floyd Hinson, Sr., and Massie Chandler Hinson, on Sunday, October 30, 1949 in Richmond County, North Carolina.  He now joins his siblings Marva, Arlanda, Floyd, Jr., and Dan, who preceds him in death.

As the third youngest siblings of eleven, he loved being around his family.  Whether it was hanging out in Mt. Gilead, or hosting nieces and nephews in the " big city" of Greensboro.  He enjoyed all things family oriented, such as the Christmas holiday, Thanksgiving and family vacations and reunions.

Bill graduated from West Montgomery High School and attended North Carolina A&T State University and was a graduate of Harris Barber College in Raleigh, North Carollina.  He was employed as a Circulation Manager at the Greensboro Daily News and Record Company.  He went on to become a successful Master barber and was the operator of barber ships in both Greensboto and Asheboro.  Bill's career lasted over forty years.  In addition to providing guidance, apprenticeships, and employment, he also mentored young barbers.

Bill loved the Lord, and enjoyed reading his bible.  As a youth, he was a member of Parson Grove Baptist Church in Exway, North Carolina.  After moving to Guilford County, he became a member of Trinity AME Zion Church in Greensboro, NC.  For the past twenty years, he has been a member of McAuley Memorial AME Zion Church in Mt. Gilead, where he loved his church family.

There weren't too many things that Bill loved more than his family, fast cars, the Dallas Cowboys and fishing.  On any given Sunday afternoon, you could find him cheering on his "boys" and chanting, " how bout dem Cowboys" !.  But if the Cowboys lost a football game, you better not call his phone, because he would not answer it.  Bill was also a very jovial person, who used sarcas and jokes that would make people laugh.  You would be hard pressed to find a picture of Bill smiling, because that was the kind of person he was, always smiling, and always lending a helping hand.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Magalene Hinson of the home.  He will always be loved and adored by his son Rahshad Hinson (Ebony) and their two children, Zjaden and Kamren of Greensboro, NC; his daughter, Courtney Hinson Cason (Talley) and their two children, Leah and Isabella of Germantown, MD; bonus daughter, Tressa Brower Organes of Greensboro, NC and bonus son, James Brower of Brown Summitt, NC; nine bonus bonus grandchildren, and six bonus great-grands; five sisters, Ruby Litte, Shirley Dumas (Asia), Joyce Robinson (Harold), all of Mt. Gilead, NC; Dorothy Leeper (Ron) and Brenda Hinson, all of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Vernon Hinson (Joanie) of Albany, NY; three sisters-in-law,  Mamie Hinson of Mt. Gilead, NC, Carrie Hinson of Windbow, NC  and Shirley Hinson of Biscoe, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
