Blondell Autrell Days Polk, 78 of Peachland, NC died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe, NC. Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 9012 Highway 74 East in Marshville, NC with Reverend Louis Blakeney, Pastor, Eulogist burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Polk was born July 23, 1933 in Richland County, South Carolina to the late Zack and Eloise Kelly Days. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in South Carolina. Accepting her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age , later in her life she joined Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Marshville, NC and remained a faithful member until her death.
She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her husband of 50 years Joe Frank Polk of the home; two sons; Thomas Eugene Days (Maxine) of South Carolina, Michael A Polk of the home; five daughters Carolyn E. Brown and Mildred F. Brazzle both of Charlotte, NC, Ella Dean Wider of South Carolina, Sherry D. Brazzle of Wadesboro, NC and Barbara Ann Johnson (Johnny) of Marshville, NC; one sister; Mildred Bernice Gladden; step-daughters; Marilyn, Frances, Teresa and stepson; Terry all of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren; Thomasje, Garrick, Derrick, LaTasha, Rickie, Autrell, Antoine, Zackery, Danielle and step-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; Edna Adams of Peachland, NC; one brother-in-law; James Polk (Brenda) and a host of neices and nephews. Special thanks to her care givers Charlene, Tamara, Foch and Carlin, special friends Minister Bogans and Nellie Steele.
A Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.
