Bobby Gene Allsbrook

MR. BOBBY GENE ALLSBROOK, 77 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at  Firsrhealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Monday, April 14, 2014 at Chestnut AME Zion Church,  7093 Grassy Island Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306, Rev. Keith Ellerbe, pastor will be the eulogist.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  A public viewing will be held 1pm to 7pm Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

" Shine" as he was fondly called by everyone, was a master carpenter, self taught and self employed.  He had over 50 years of experience.  He was a member of Parson Grove Baptist Church, and was a son of the late Robert and Easter Harris Allsbrook.  He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Allsbrook, step-son, Lee Edward Pemberton, one sister, and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years; Edna Mae Pemberton Allsbrook of the home; three daughters; Linda Allsbrook of Mebane, NC, Phyllis Allsbrook-Little of Mt. Gilead, NC and Catherine Allsbrook of Durham, NC; five sons; David Allsbrook of Mt. Gilead, NC, Eric Allsbrook (Cherita) of New London, NC, Gary Allsbrook of Savannah, GA., Wayne Allsbrook (Jocelyn) of Durham, NC and Alex Allsbrook of Troy, NC, a grandson raised as a son"; step-son, James "Bee" Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, NC;  two sisters; Rachel Haywood (Sylvester);  and Mary Allsbrook, both of Mt. Gilead, NC and brother, Thomas Allsbrook (Shirley) of Mt. Gilead, NC; 10 grandchildren;  3 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and a host of neices, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends.
