Bobby J. Shepherd, Sr.

MR. BOBBY J. SHEPHERD, SR., 72 of TROY, NC died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC. Funeral Services will be held 3pm Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Roper Grove AME Zion Church, 196 Roper Grove Ch. Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306, Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

He was a Davie County(Mocksville) native, a son of the late Auther and Vergie Davis Shepherd.  He married the late Fannie Lee Bowden Shepherd in 1962 and to this union, 5 children were born.   He was a retiree of Jordan Lumber Company, Mount Gilead, NC and attended the public schools of Davie County. He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Shepherd.

He leaves to cherish loving memories to five children; Priscilla Stanback (Elester) of Mount Gilead, NC; Bobby Shepherd, Jr., of Albemarle, NC, Brenda Shepherd of Kannapolis, NC, Michael Shepherd of Harlem, NY and Kelvin J. Shepherd (Lakeisha) of Mount Gilead, NC; two brothers; James Shepherd  of Winston-Salem, NC and Bruce Shepherd of Charleston, SC; 11 grandchildren; Katosha, Cedric, Tabitha Little, Resino Little,  Jaries Medley, Demarries, Demetrius, Makayla, Ra'Qwon, Ny'asia, and Jada Shepherd; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lola Tyson; four brothers-in-law; Lonnie Bowden, Frank Bowden, Jimmy Bowden and Hubert Bowden; special friend, Brenda Smith; best friend, Kenneth Davenport and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
