MR. BOBBY SLOAN, 78 of CHARLOTTE, NC passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe, NC. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC
A public vieiwng will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, March 30, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.
Mr. Bobby Sloan was born on Monday, July 10, 1939, to the late E. H. Ludlow and Eirabell Simpson, in Seneca, SC.
He attended Winchester High School in Monroe, NC. He enjoyed fishing, card playing repairing cars, traveling, taking vacations and participating in family events. He was a member of the social club, Black Men of Monroe.
Preceding him in death are Connie Huntley Sloan, Betty Jean Bradshaw Sloan Woods; three sisters, Grace Sloan and Meritace Glenn; four brothers, James, Odell, Billy and Maland Sloan, niece, LoveJoy Sloan and nephew, David Glenn (Squeaky).
From his union to Betty Jean Bradshaw Sloan Woods were three children; Barbara Sloan, his caregiver of the home, Charlotte, NC, Odell LaFayette Sloan (deceased) and Tyrone Sloan (Angela) of Wingate, NC; a step-daughter, Veronica Sloan Cameron (Jimmy) of Wingate, NC; daughter, Elizabeth Streater Kanu of Rock Hill, SC and a son Bobby Ray Thompson (Sonja) of Seattle, WA; two step-sisters, Gertrude Kilgo and Ora Ludlow and a step-son, Robert Ludlow; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
