Bonnie Alvin Leake

MR. BONNIE ALVIN LEAKE, 57, of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at Hospice  Haven of  Richmond County in Rockingham, NC.

Funeral Servcies will be held 2:00pm Friday, February 12, 2016, at Mountain Grove / Ingram Chapel  AME Zion Church, 3403 NC HWY. 73 West, Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Interment will follow in the Ingram Chapel Church Cemetery in Mount Gilead, NC.

A public veiwing will be held 12pm to 7pm Thursday, February 11, 2016,  at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Born Saturday, October 11, 1958 in Montgomery County, NC, he was a son of the late George and Cora Robinson Leake. " Bonn" as he was fondly called by everyone, attended the public schools of Montgomery County and was a 1977 graduate of West Montgomery High School.  He was formerly a US Army Veteran and attended the National Guard, and Southeastern of Albemarle.  He attended Mountain Grove/Ingram Chapel AME Zion Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bernice Leake and a brother, Craven Leake.

Those left to cherish his memories, are his wife, Annie Baldwin Leake; three step-children, Derek and Eric Baldwin, and Brittany Watkins; four sisters, Linda Pemberton, Bessie Mae Medley, Vera Morman (Clarence) and Meriam Leake, all of Mount Gilead, NC; 7 brothers, George A. Leake, Glenn "BucK" Leake, and Larry Leake, all of Mount Gilead, NC; Alfred Leake and James Leake, both of Charlotte, NC, David W. Leake of Star, NC and Harvey Leake of Albemarle, NC; three aunts, Mae Catherine Thomas of Plainfield, NJ and Dorothy Bogan (Keith) of Ellerbe, NC, and Ruth Ann Robinson of Mount Gilead, NC  and one uncle, Charlie Robinson of Mount Gilead, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
