.MS. BRENDA ANN BIVENS, 61 of CHARLOTTE, NC passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare System Main in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 5:00 pm Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Christ Bible Discipleship Worship Center, 1019 Unarco Rd., Marshville, NC.  Dr. L.D. Williams, Eulogist, Interment will be Private.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, April 28, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Brenda was born to  Hattie Reed and the late Bobby's Barrino on Friday, November 11, 1955 in Pageland, SC.  She was the oldest of Fifteen children.

She was formerly employed by K&W Cafeteria Corporation, where she used her culinary skills to prepare meals.  Affectionately known as Brenda B, was a loving, compassionate and generous person with her love, time and meals.

Brenda loved her mother, her one and only son. Irving Bivens; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends dearly.  She was predeceased by a sister, Genesis (Ken) of Selma, Ala.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Nicey Grove Church in Wingate, NC.  Her philosophy in life was to always tell it like it is even if it hurts.

As she steps into the shadow of death, the joy of her life will always remain inthe hearts of her son, Irving Bivens and his friend Nesrin of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Hattie Reed of Monroe, NC,; step-father, Edward of Camden, SC,,; six sisters, Freda (Michael) of Charlotte, NC, Edwina (Jeremy) of Marshville, NC, Vivian of Albemarle, NC, Myra Lynn ( Bobby), Anna Bell ( David) of Oakboro, NC and Debra ( (Wayne) of Mineral Springs, NC; seven brothers, Larry (Audrey) and George of Monroe, NC, Darrow (Michelle) of High Point, NC, Otis of Albemarle, NC, Gary (Melinda) of Marshville, NC, Tim (Rita) of Wingate, NC , and Mark(JoAnne) of Charlotte, NC; 8 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three aunts, four uncles, special niece , Monique; special Grandma, Ms. Helen; godson, Tyrone, and a host  nieces, nephews. Cousins and friends.
