MR. CARL MARTIN McBROOM, 62 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC,
passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the Snow Hill AME Zion Church, 204 Snow Hill Church Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Military Honors and Interment will be held 11:00am Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville, Blvd., Salisbury, NC.
A public viewing will be held 12:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.
Carl was born on December 5, 1953, in Cumberland County, North Carolina to the late Vance Sr., and Gerline Brown McBroom.
Carl was a member of Snow Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Mount Gilead, North Carolina, where he served as an Usher, and was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He received the Vietnamese Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He also attended Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC.
He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Willie Antine Stanback on April 16, 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Vance McBroom, Jr.
Those left to cherish loving and fond memories are his devoted wife, Willie Antine Stanback McBroom of the home; two sons, Carl M. Campbell of Lumberton, NC and Cory Stanback of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Lorraine Glover (Willie-deceased) and (Retired Major) Cynthia Airrington (Collin), all of Hope Mills, NC; four brothers, Quintin (Angie) McBroom, Eric (Vanessa) McBroom and Bobby (Katrina) McBroom, and Robert Summers (Joyce-deceased) all of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Heaven M. Campbell of Lumberton, NC, Brittany Peoples of Atlanta, GA., Corey Stanback of Charlotte, NC, Raekwon Little of Mt. Gilead, NC and Lauren Stanback of Clearwater, FL; special aunt, Mrs. Annie Villines of Durham, NC, brother-in-law, Johnny (Ermateen) Greene of Mt. Gilead, NC; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Rudisell, Mrs. Brenda (Douglas) Gaines, Minister Lynette (Lee) Collins, all of Mt. Gilead, NC, special extended family, Deborah Anderson and Myron Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
