Charlene Houston

MISS CHARLENE HOUSTON, 41 of WAXHAW, NC passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015.  Funeral Sevices will be held 1pm  Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Marvin AME Zion Church, 1525 Crane Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173, Dr. Haven O. Anderson, Pastor, Pastor Nathaniel Blackmon, Eulogist, Visitation will be held 12 noon to 1pm prior to the Service. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held 12 noon to 7pm Friday, June 5, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born Saturday, December 29, 1973 in Mecklenburg County, NC to Eva Mae Joyner Houston and the late Charles Edward Houston, Sr. She was educated in the Public Schools of Union County and attended Brookstone College of Business where she recieved an Associate Degree in Health Care Medical Technology.  Charlene was also a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Registered  Medical Assistant and she had recently enrolled at Central Piedmont Community College Pre-Nursing Program.  Charlene was family oriented and loved planning family gatherings, poetry and cooking.  She was known for her Macaroni and cheese and her infectious smile.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Houston, Sr. and a sister, Miss Tina Denise Houston.

Charlene leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to one son; Deontae S. Houston, a loving and devoted mother; Eva Mae Houston and one brother, Charles E. Houston, Jr., all of Waxhaw, NC; Aunts Rebecca McKay (Robert), Mary Springs (Ernest), Beatrice Brown and Sarah Moses (Edward) all of Charlotte, NC and Bessie Mae Joiner of Waxhaw, NC; Uncles, Joe C. Joyner of Savannah, GA, Johnnie Houston and Lloyd Houston both of Charlotte, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.
