MR. CHARLES EDWARD CURETON, 70 of CHARLOTTE, NC passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Atrium Health / Main in Charlotte, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church (West), 6712 Sims Rd., Waxhaw, NC. Military Honors and Interment will follow in the Waxhaw City Cemetery, Waxhaw, NC.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a maske or facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.
Charles Edward Cureton , a son of the late James David Cureton, Sr. and Bleeka Crowe Cureton, was born on Monday, March 13, 1950.
He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings; Artie Phillips, Alberta Cureton, John I. Cureton Lindsey Cureton, James David Cureton, Jr, Sarah Williams and Harmon Cureton.
Charles attended Union County Public Schools and graduated from Parkwood High School in 1968. After attendinf Central Piedmont Community College, he served in the US Army as an electronic from 1969 to 1972. Later, he was employed by Duke Energy and Charlotte Pipe before he began work as a concrete finisher. Charles was the proud owner of Covenant Concrere & Service until his retirement in 2010.
Charles loved and cherished his relationship with the Lord. At the age of 12, he received Chrisr and became a member of Piney Grove West Baptist Church in Waxhaw, NC. Later, he attended and had memberships with Silver Run, Marvin AME Zion and Nations Ford Community Church.
Charles was a man of many skills such as concrete finisher, electrical, HVAC, wood working, furniture making and home improvement. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to gospel music, fishing, watching sports, good movies and CNN. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories are one son, Marlin Hall of Charlotte, NC ane one daughter, Seressa Autry (Elvis) of Monroe, NC; a very special person dear to his heart whom e helped raise, Kendra Richardson of Monroe, NC; two sisters, Doris Cureton and Joyce Weddington, both of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
