Charlotte Shanel Knight

Ms. Charlotte Shanel Knight, 46 of Mt. Gilead, NC , passed away Sunday morning,  August 1, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4,  2021, at Walls Chapel Baptist Church, 104 Edenboro Road,   Mt. Gilead, NC.

Public viewing will be Tuesday,  August 3, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of Mt. Gilead, NC.

Due  to Covid 19, everyone who enters the funeral home and the chapel are asked to wear a facial covering or mask and use the hand sanitizee upon entering and exiting.  This is for the safety of our families and our staff.

Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of Mt. Gilead, is serving the Knight, Thomas and extended families.

Charlotte Shanel Knight, 46 of Mt. Gilead, NC, passed away on Sunday, morning August 1, 2021 at 0830 a.m., after a short battle with cancer.  She was surrounded by her mother, father, brother, sister, aunt  and niece.

Charlotte attended West Montgomery High School through her sophomore year and graduated from North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham, NC in 1992.  She earned a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences and later a Nursing Degree from North Carolina Central Uiversity in Durham, NC.  She later earned a MSN in Management and Leadershio from Walden University.  Charlotte was a floor nurse and later a charge nurse.

Charlotte is survived by her parents of the home, George and Ella Knight; her sister, Beverly Stanback (Jesse) of  Chapel Hill, NC and her brother, Dr. Vincent Knight (Stacy) of Lawrenceville, GA; nephews, James (CA) and Chandler (GA) Jacmel (GA) and nieces, Alleyah, Ahnjelica and Auriyan (GA); her aunt, Bessie Mae Chambers, Mt. Gilead, NC.

Charlotte was a loving and loyal daughterm sister, aunt and friend,  She loved to entertain, provide opportunities for her friends to be pampered.  She was giving.  Her friends  would say that when they were around her they felt safe. That her smile lit up a room when she  walked in.

Charlotte loved her family; called her mom almost every night.  was protective of her dad's heart; had a special connection with Bubba.  She spent time with her nieces  and loved her nephews.  She had a heart of gold and always wanted the best for the people in her life.  She definitely left us better than she found us.

The family would like to express a special thank you to a number of loyaln friends, who came in and loved up on Charlotte and were  willing to roll nup her sleeves and perticipate ib her care; Cathy, Gina, Brenda, Kia, Colletta, Fonnie, Martha, Latoya, Cassandra, Deidra, Joletta, Cindy,  Erica, Maceo and first cousin, Nadina  who really stepped up.
