Chrisgen Moore

MR. CHRISGEN MOORE, 69 of Mount Gilead, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00pm Tuesday March 7, 2017 at the Saints Delight Church, 520 Wall St., Albemarle, NC 28001.

Military Honors and Interment will be held 11:00am  Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, March 6, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Chris was born on Saturday, December 20, 1947 in Mecklenburg County, NC-Huntersville, to the late Herman and Arlena Hunter Moore.  He exchanged mortality for immortality on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

Chris received his formal education in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.  He later entered the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for 3 years.  The medals he received were the National Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Meda and the Experts Badge (Rifle).

He attended Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), where he received two degrees, Auto Body Repair and Diesel Mechanics.  He became employed with the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) and retired after 31 years of service.

Chris leaves to cherish loving memories to his devoted wife, Barbara Thomas Moore of the home; two daughters, Erika Barnett of Charlotte, NC and Wanda Anderson (William) of Bakersville, NC; a cherished granddaughter, Kennedy Barnett; two brothers, George Moore(Rose) of Davidson, NC and Ralph Moore (Lucille) of Wilmington, NC; seven sisters, Marjorie Torrence (Alexander) of Davidson, NC, Virginia Whitley (James) and Elaine Gibson, all of Huntersville, NC, Rosa Cornelius of Charlotte, NC, Brenda Vanderburg, Linda Johnson (Robert) and Sylvia Tucker, all of Rahway, NJ; seven brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
