MR. CLEVELAND DUNCAN, 89 of MATTHEWS, NC, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Novant Health / Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC.

Funeral Servcies will be held 2:00pm at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Visitation 1:30pm to 2:00pm prior to the service in the Chapel.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 6:00pm Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden in Mint Hill, NC.   Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC in charge.

Mr. Duncan was a son of the late Charlie and Eva Duncan. He workded for Holly Farms and later for Tyson for 50 years, where he retired.  His hobbies were fishing and gardening, helping others and having a big cookout.

He was married to the late Elsie Mae Duncan, who awaits him in heaven.  He was also preceded in death by ason, Kenneth Phifer (Patricia).

He leaves to cherish his memories are his seven children; one son, Cleveland Jerome Duncan (Christie) late (Janneatta); six daughters, Christine DeLaine Lyons (late Jesse) Phil, Christine Elaine Young,(Robert), Phyllis Garris (Charles), Jannetta Moses (Ronnie), Rosetta Duncan (Tim), Patricia and Eugene Bell (Michael Carelock); 28 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Bob Rushing, Howard, Phifer, and Ernest Phiifer; three sisters-in-law, Queen Susan Duncan, Fannie Mae Duncan and Eva Joyce Phifer, and a host of other relatives and friends.
