Cora Kathleen (Covington) Huntley

Mrs. Cora Kathleen Covington Huntley, 92 of Monroe, NC died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.    Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Greater Grace Community Church, 880 Hasty Rd., Marshville, NC 28103 with interment to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.  Family Visitation will be held 11am to 12 noon Wednesday at the Church prior to the service, Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Mrs. Huntley was born in Union County, NC, Friday, December 30, 1921 a daughter of the late James Walter and Cora Chambers Covington, she was educated in the Public Schools of Union County, NC and was a life long member of Chambers Grove Baptist Church in Marshville, NC.  In 1939 she married the late Reverend Clarence M. Huntley and they were blessed with five daughters and two sons. She loved the Lord and her Church, she assisted Reverend Huntley for over Thirty years in fulfilling his call to the Ministry by being there physically as well as spiritually for the members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Ansonville, NC  and was a faithful member of various ministries within the church.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories; two sons; Minister Cleveland Huntley (Barbara) of Pineville, NC, and Mr. Floyd Huntley (Linda) of Monroe, NC; five daughters; Mrs. Margaret Autry (James) of Marshville, NC,Mrs. Doris Stokes (Archie) of Monroe, NC, Mrs. Elizabeth Doster of Waxhaw, NC, Mrs. Mary Leaks, Mrs. Joyce Hammond (Eddie) of Monroe, NC; Twenty one Grandchildren, Fourty four Great-grandchildren and Twenty-six Great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; Johnny Covington of Marshville, NC and Jadie Covington of Hampton, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
