Cynthia Ann (Ellerbe) Ewing

MRS. CYNTHIA ANN ELLERBE EWING, 55 of  AHSEBORO, NC formerly of MT. GILEAD,NC passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019, in the Randolph Health Hospital, Asheboro, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm  Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Oliver Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 232 Davis - Haywood Road, (Mangrum Community), MT. Gilead, NC.  Intermnent will follow in the church cemetery.  Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC is serving the Ewing, Ellerbe and extended families.

Cynthia, a daughter of Mother Pansie Rush Ellerbe and the late J.P.Ellerbe on Thursday, April 23, 1964 in Montgomery County, NC.

Cynt received her formal education in the Montgomery County School System.  She was a 1982 graduate of West Montgomery High School.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Oliver Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorial leadership of the late Rev. W. H. Sturdivant.  She served fathfully on the choir and the Pastor's Aid until her health began to decline and she was unable to attend church.

She loved her family and celebrating the holidays and talking to her sisters on the phone,  Cynt had a big smile and a big heart and would give her best advice to all who encounter her countenance.

Cynthia was employed with Russell-Harvell Hosiery for 5 years in MT. Gilead until she relocated to Asheboro.  There she was employed by Klaussner Furniture Company in Asheboro for several years.  Cynt decided to do more to help others  and  she began in nursing facilities with the elderly bringing smiles to their faces.

She went to school in Greensboro, NC to get her food consumer certification in the food service industry where she used her talents at Caroline Assisted Living and Brookdale Senior Living Homes in Asheboro. She became disabled in 2010.

Cynt was united in holy matrimony to Jeffery Edrick Ewing and to this union, four beautiful children were born.  She was preceded in death by her father, J.P. Ellerbe, sister, Mary Hinson, nephew, Shaheed Bilal, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She leaves to cherish loving memories to the love of jer life, Jeffery Edrick Ewing, Sr.,; daughters, La'Teeyfah Stasia Ewing, Justine Stacie Ewing and Yasmine Marie Ewing and her precious son, Jeffery Edrick Ewing II, all of the home; her granddaughter, Zian Bonee' Williamson of the home; her mother, Pansie Ellerbe of MtT Gilead, NC; three sisters, Khaleelah Johnson (Rev. Johnny) of Decatur, GA, Lucy Bailey (Joe) of Garner, NC and Alice James (Horace) of MT. Gilead, NC; three brothers, Roger Ellerbe (Dan) of Salisbury, NC, Frederick Douglas Ellerbe (April) of Charlotte, NC and Mario "Ronnie" Ellerbe (Angie) of Greenville, SC; father and mother-in-law, John Edward and Addie Lee Ewing of MT . Gilead, NC; brothers-in-law, Timothy Ewing (Sharon), Karon Ewing (Kwasan), Joel Ewing (Casshannon) and Noel Ewing; sister-in-law, Jackie Ewing (Eric Smith); aunts, Isabelle Medley of Brooklyn, NY, Florence Cagle of Biscoe, NC and Willette Baldwin of Star, NC; uncles, John Rush of Star, NC and Luke Ellerbe of Texas, other aunts and uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
