Daisy Mae (Sturdivant) Rush

MRS. DAISY MAE STURDIVANT RUSH, 89 of CHARLOTTE, NC formerly of Norwood, NC passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Bennettsville AME Zion Church, 457 Carver St., Norwood, NC.  Mrs. Rush remains will lie in repose 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the church prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill AME Zion Church Cemetery in Ansonville, NC.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Rush, Sturdivant and Jackson families.

Daisy Mae Sturdivant Rush , was born on March 17, 1932, in  Anson County,  North Carolina at her home.

Daisy attended the Anson County Schools.  She worked in the textiles industry until she retired.  She loved her family and community and was loved by many.

Daisy was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Sidney Thomas Rush, Jr.  She was preceded in death by three sons, Henry Junior Watkins, Darnell Sturdivant and Danny Rush, daughter, Joyce Hansley.

She leaves to cherish her memories to Roger Sturdivant of Wadesboro, NC, Kathy Thompson (Mannie) of Charlotte, NC, Frederick  Rush (James) of Charlotte, NC, Gregory Rush (Benita) of Winston-Salem, NC, Dale Davis of Albemarle, NC, Deana Rush of Anson County, NC, Ceenika Carelock (Michael) of Wadesboro, NC, Creola Clark of Norwood, NC, Mary Ruth Sturdivant of Monroe, NC and Mozell Willoughby of Albemarle, NC; brothers-in-law, James Burch of Charlotte, NC and Karo Crump of Burnsville, NC; daughters-in-law, Rosa Watkins of Wadesboro, NC and Julia Rush of Winston-Salem, NC; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
