Danny Thomas Rush

MR. DANNY THOMAS RUSH, 62 of NORWOOD NC, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June  26, 2021 at the Bennetsville A.M.E. Zion Church, 457 Carver St., Norwood, NC.  Interment will follow the Bennettsville A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery in Norwood, NC.

(Due to COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service are required to wear  a mask or facial covering)

Danny Thomas Rush, 62, was born on Friday, February 27, 1959 to Daisy S. Rush and the late Sidney Thomas Rush and left this earth on Sunday, June 21, 2021 at his home.

Danny "Sugar Bear" of "Bear", as he was known by everyone, attended the Stanly County Schools and later received a degree in Culinary Arts.

Danny accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bennettsville A.M.E. Zion Church.

(Special words to Danny about Jeremy) Danny enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephews.  He was extremely close to his great-nephew Jeremy Coleman II, whom he loved as his own son.  They enjoyed going fishing and watching Jack and The Bean Stalk.  Danny will be truly missed.

Danny was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Hansley, and two brothers, Donnell Sturdivant and Henry Watkins.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Daisy S. Rush; three brothers, Roger Sturdivant of Wadesboro, NC, Greg Rush (Bernita) of Winston-Salem, NC and  Fredrick (James) Rush of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Kathy (Mannie) Thompson of Charlotte, NC and Dale Davis of Albemarle, NC; two aunts, Creola Clark, whom he had an extremely close bond with and Mary Ruth Sturdivant; two uncles, James Burch and Karo Crump; sister-in-law, Deanna Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends, Libby Shankle, Robyn Ashley; special cousins, Reginald Rush, Jr., Lee Edward Sturdivant and Keith Watkins.
