A Private Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1913 Wood Hurst Lane, Albemarle, NC.
A Public Viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2020 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC which is serving the Bruton, Green and extended families.
A Time To Be Born: Detavius Quate Bruton, was born on Friday, January 9, 1998 in Richmond County, NC, to Denise Bruton and Claude Green.
A Time To Grow: Detavius "Dee", received his formal education at West Montgomery High School, where he participated in basketball and various school activities. He also took classes at Montgomery Community College and still had intentions of attending a four year institution.
A Time to Serve: Detavius attended and accepted Christ at McAuley Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, Mt. Gilead, NC. He worked for McRae Shoe Factory, Jordan Lumber Company and UPS(United Postal Service).
A Time To Laugh: Dee had a humble, sweet spirit and love for fashion, music, entertainment, and most of all family and friends. Most importantly, he enjoyed being whatever his family and friends needed him to be; son, brother, encourager, and a true friend. He prided himself in being able to make people happy by bringing laughter and encouragement to those around him. He was always helping others despite his own circumstances.
A Time To Rest: Detavius Quate Bruton entered into eternal rest on Friday April 24, 2020.
A Time To Mourn: The legacy of the season is left to his loving family; his mother, Denise Bruton of Ellerbe, NC and father, Claude Green of Mt. Gilead, NC; sisters; Claudia (Paul) Carson, Dr. Tempest (David) Leake and Taresha Green, all of Albemarle, NC; Darmeshia Bruton of Rockingham, NC, JaQuerra Bruton of High Point, NC, Antoinette Bruton of Hamlet, NC and Shaquitta Covington of Lumberton, NC; brothers; Quatez D. Bruton of Mt. Gilead, NC, Marquavious Little of Wadeville, NC and Freddie Bruton of Ellerbe, NC; grandparents; John S. Bruton of Charlotte, NC, Dorothy Bogan of Ellerbe, NC; three nephews, David Todd Leake, Jr, Clifton Vance Leake and Cortez Carson, all of Albemarle, NC; two nieces, Deshonna D. Green of Kannapolis, NC and Maria A. Leake of Albemarle, NC; special friends, Roger, "RJ" Griffin, Fred Dumas and Tyheem Bruton (Cousin); 13 aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Those preceding him in death were a brother, Clifton T. Green; grandparents, John L. and Mary Virginia Green and step-grandfather, Keith Bogan.
