Diane Louise (Burwell) Moore

MRS. DIANE LOUISE BURWELL MOORE, 72 of MONROE, NC passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Atrium Health / Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 11: 00 am Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe,NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2020 at  Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Mrs. Diane Louise Burwell Moore, a daughter of the late Stanley Husband and Vera Burwell, was born  on Friday, April 16, 1948.  She departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Atrium Health Hospice  of Union County,   Monroe, NC.

Diane grew up with her family at 136 Sumpter Street on Brooklyn, NY,  youngest of five children.  She was reared by her grandmother, Ms. Philhelmina Burwell.

Diane loved to entertain as her favorite song was "At Last" by Etta James.  With  her robust laughter, she was loved by her family and was alwaus willing to assist an any way she could.  She also loved cooking, her plants and especially  butterflies.

She met and married Mr. Ned Moore on Valentines Day, February 14, 1986.  Diane worked hard rearing her children and grandchildren while working for the City of New York where she retired in 2008.

Later, Diane and Ned moved south to Monroe, NC, where they enjoyed rearing their grands and taking them to Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, where they are all members and enrolling them in the Equestrian Sport.

She was preceded in dearh by her parents; grandparents; two siblings, Roger Burwell and Sandra Holmes and her daughter, Vera Smiiley.

She leaves long memories to her husband, Ned; daughter, April Smiley; grandchildren, Raqibah, Rashon, Brianna, Beautifulm Kaseem, Novasia, and Kerisma; siblingds, James Burwell (Helen) and Ronald Burwell(Michelle) and an aunt, Jeri Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
