Dorothy (Horne) Patterson

MS. DOROTHY " Dot " HORNE PATTERSON, 71 of Troy, NC, passed away Tuesday evening, January 24, 2023, at Atrium Health-Concord, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. Stephens United Church of God 518 S. Main Street, Troy, NC, with burial to follow in the Bruton Cemetery 500 Bruton Cemetery Road, Wadeville. NC.

Public viewing will be held Friday January 27, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations, 2529 NC Hwy 109 S., Mt. Gilead, NC from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Please wear a face mask or a facial covering upon entering and exiting the funeral home.  Also use the Hand Sanitizing Station upon entering and exiting the Chapel.  Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated for the safety of our families, staff and community.

Dorothy Horne Patterson, born in Troy, NC, on Monday, August 27, 1951 to Floyd Horne Sr., and Georgiana Marshall Horne, departed her life on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in Concord, NC.

She attended Peabody High School and completed her senior year at West Montgomery High School.  She was a dedicated member of St. Stephens United Church of God. where she loved singing on the choir and serving as President of the Missionary Department.

To cherish her memories, she leaves two brothers; William Thomas Horne ans Alvin Jasper Horne and one sister, Patty Horne Simmons.

To cherish and honor heralways, she leaves five children; Marie Mitchell (Michael), Tawanda Garrison (Rodney Sr.), Jeramie Patterson (Heather), Niya Young (Jimmy) and Shaheed Patterson; ten grandchildren; Kei-niyashia, Maegan, Jeremiah, Myles, Jeremyah, Rodney, Jr., Elijah, Jeramie, Jr., Destiny and Trinity; one great-granddaughter, Amara.

Dorothy was also surrounded by the love of several nieces, nephews, cousins and kind neighbors.

Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of Mt. Gilead, NC,  is serving the Patterson, Horne and extended families.
