Dorothy Lee (Wall) Peterkin

MRS. DOROTHY LEE WALL PETERKIN, 67 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC (Wadeville Community) passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at First Health / Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.

Memorial Service will be 4 pm Thursday, August 3,2017, at Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 2529 NC Highway 109 South, Mt. Gilead, NC, with Minister Joel Peterkin, Nephew, Eulogist.

Mrs. Peterkin was born on Friday, March 24, 1950, in Richmond County, NC, to the late Paul Wall and Leatha Covington.  She was the widower of the late James Harrison Peterkin.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Holt and Pap, and a sister, Elaine Griffin.

Dorothy was an intelligent and educated woman.  She loved books, especially the ones by  by Stephen King, puzzles, and her Tube Rose snuff.  She had a smile that would light up the sky.  She will be truly missed by all.

Survivors include daughter, Cindy Peterkin McBride (Garry) of Wadeville, NC; son, James Gregory Peterkin of Louisville, KY; 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, Marvin, Matthew, Dorothea, and Greg's son; sisters, Phyllis Peterkin and Jeanelle, both of Rockingham, NC; brother, Gary Covington of Rockingham, NC; sisters-in-law, Minister Margie Legrand, Annette Monroe, Vernail Collins, all of Wadeville, NC and Reba Dunlap of VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
