Mr. Douglas Wayne Kilgo, 59 of Monroe, NC died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union, Monroe, NC. Funeral Services will be held 3pm Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 520 Billy Howie Rd., Wesley Chapel, NC 28104, Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.
Born in Union County, NC, Saturday, February 27, 1954 a son of the late Leonard Kilgo, Sr. and Leona Watts Kilgo. He attended Western Union High School in Union County, NC. "Doug" was a Master Mechanic by Trade and a dynamic cook. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers; Oscar Lee Kilgo and Leonard Kilgo, Jr., he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories;three daughters; Tammy Richardson, (Rufus) of Lincolnton, NC, Catherine Richardson, (Gene) of Monroe, NC and Charlotte Kilgo; two sons; Douglas Kilgo, Jr.and Lorenzo Stewart both of Monroe, NC; two brothers; James Kilgo, (Myrtle) and Jimmy Kilgo both of Matthews, NC; two sisters; Bessie Kilgo Stinson, (Albert) and Lillie Kilgo Kirkpatrick, (Charles) of Matthews, NC and a host of Grandchildren, Neices, Nephews,Cousins and other relatives and dear friends.
