MR. DOUGLAS LEE TAYLOR, 63 of MONROE, NC, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at CHS-Mercy in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 3:30pm Friday, December 23, 2016, at Monroe Deliverance Center, 3219 Secrest Short Cut Road, Monroe, NC.  Bishop Andre Hester, is the Pastor.  Eulogist will be Pastor Lovell Chandler.

Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Douglas, also known as JYD, was born on Friday,  June 12, 1953 to the late and Jack and Emma Taylor.  He departed this earthly life on Monday,  December 19,  2016, at CHS Mercy, Charlotte, NC.

Douglas attended Forest Hills High School and received his GED from South Piedmont Community College.  He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Testament Holiness Church, under Pastor Mary Rogers White.

He was a supervisor at Tyson Food, where he was employed for 26 years until his health began to decline.  He hobbies included shooting pool, baseball, riding motorcycles and speedy cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Julia Watts, Annie Fincher, Patricia Hailey, and one brother, Roy Taylor.

He leaves cherished memories to his loving wife Catherine Taylor; two sons, Ebenezer Blakeney of Seattle, Washington and James Blakeney of Monroe, NC; one daughter, LaWanda Clyburn (James) of Monroe, NC; special grandson, Caleb McKinley Blakeney; one brother Jack Taylor, Jr., of Wingate, NC; six sisters, Barbara Taylor of Wilkesboro, NC, Bernice Blakeney and Mae Helen Wright (Johnnie) of Charlotte, NC, Regina Hall (Frank) of Monroe, NC and Vernadine Robinson of Salisbury NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
