MRS. EARNESTINE CROWE MOBLEY, 78 of WAXHAW, NC passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Atrium Health / Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 2:30 pm Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe, NC. Visitation will be held 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm in the Chapel prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.
A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Mobley, Crowe, Tillman and extended families.
Earnestine was born on Tuesday, February 4, 1941 in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Hallman Crowe and Ruth Tillman Crowe Cooper. "Tine" as she was so fondly called by her closest friends accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Waxhaw, NC where she served on various church boards until her health began to decline in early 2000. Upon graduating from Western Union School in 1959 "Tine" worked in the Textile Industry as a Sewing Machine Operator. She was a true believer in speaking her mind, she always let you know "I'm just Earnestine" and often lovingly joked how one-of-a-kind she was and that you would never find anyone else like her. She was a strong and resilient women with a resounding laugh. You could not help but laugh when you were in her presence. At the annual family reunion, any would patiently wait in line to get a piece of her famous German Chocolate or Pineapple Coconut Cake. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, raking leaves and sitting on one of her many swings in her backyard.
Earnestine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years; Edward Mobley, Sr., son Edward "Reynolds" Mobley, Jr., and a sister, Jo Eva Wall.
She leaves to cherish loving memories to one son, Terry Mobley of Waxhaw, NC and one daughter, Shirlene Mobley Leaks (Jeff) of Monroe, NC; two granddaughters, Jasmine Hunter (Kenny) of Columbia, SC and Shanice Leaks of Charlotte, NC; one great-grandson Kai Hunter; one step-son, Melvin Adams; one sister, Halleen Verbal of Lithonia, GA and one brother; Ben Crowe of Waxhaw, NC, Two sister-in-laws; Sarah Stitt (June) and Betty Mobley, a special aunt, Bennie Crockett, who was more like a sister and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
