Elaine (Cox) Brown

MS. ELAINE COX-BROWN, 74 of WINGATE, NC passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 in Fredericksburg, VA. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Piney Grove East Missionary Baptist Church, 1708 Ansonville Rd., Marshville, NC.  Ms. Brown's remains will lie in repose 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church prior to the service.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the service are required to wear a mask or facial covering.)

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Elaine Cox-Brown was born on Tuesday, March 3, 1947, Harlem Hospital, to the late Jessie Mae Cox Hough.  She was an only child.  She departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 16, 2022, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

In the early years of life, Elaine graduated from Roosevelt High School.  She later relocated to Buffalo, New York, attending Erie County College.  Subsequently, upon relocation to Wingate, NC, she joined the family church of Piney Grove East Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a very active member.  Following, in 2019, Elaine relocated to  Virginia to live with her son Christopher, where she spent her later years getting to know her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother;and grandson,  Christopher Jr.

She leaves to cherish her loving and fond memories to her loving son, Christopher K. Cox (Rhetta) of Virginia; her grandchildren, Christian Cox of North Carolina, Demetri Cox (Shayna), Amari Cox and Aliyah Cox, all of Virginia; four great-grandsons, Tai Cox of NC, Kingston Cox, Jeremiah Cox and Leighton Cox of Virginia, as well as five great-granddaughters, Leah Cox, Eva Cox, Kaya Cox, Ana Cox and Jade Cox, all of Virginia; as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
