Ms. Eloise Taylor Ellerbe, 73 of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Mount Gilead, NC died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Funeral Services will be held 3pm Sunday, July 14, 2013 at ST. Stephens AME Church, 1742 McKay Hill Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Visitation Will be held 2pm to 3pm prior to the servcie at the church. The family may be contacted at the home of Emma Ellerbe Henry in Lilesville, NC. Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Servcie of Mount Gilead, NC is in charge of arrangements.
She was born August 21, 1939 in Prattville, Alabama. She was the 11th of 12 children born to the late Emma and Willie Taylor. Eloise moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a young lady, attending Overbrook High School and later attending Secretarial School. She and her family moved to Mt. Gilead in the 1960's, where she resided until moving to Greensboro, NC, after retiring from Collins and Aikman for 20 plus years.
She leaves to cherish loving memories to her youngest sister, Dorothy Collins of Philadelphia, PA; her devoted children; Emma (Robert) Henry of Wadesboro, NC, Mary Walston of Greensboro, NC; Andrianne Ellerbe of Greensboro, NC, Robyn (Rafer) Johnson of San Antonio, TX and Jeffrey Ellerbe of Greensboro, NC; the father of her children; Hubert Ellerbe of Ellerbe, NC; grandchildren; Terry Ellerbe, Kevin Steele, Tyesha Ellerbe, Anthony Ellerbe, Cameron Crump, Dujuan Henry, Zachary Walsrton and Kailyn Walston; those who had a special place in her heart, George, Melissa, Franchesca and Santorius; also a niece who was like a sister, Evelyn Kirby of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
