Eric Shelton Jordan

MR. ERIC SHELTON JORDAN, 50 of CHARLOTTE, NC formerly of MONROE, NC passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at CHS Steele Creek in Charlotte, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 1pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Flag Branch Baptist Church, 2619 Old Pageland Monroe Road, Monroe, NC 28112, with the Rev. Dale S. Jordan, Pastor, Eulogist.  His remains to lie in repose 12 noon to 12:30 pm,  followed by the Omega Psi Phi Memorial Service.  Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28110.  A public viewing will be held 1pm to 7pm Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Eric was born on November 1, 1964 to Margaret Kilgo Jordan And Excell Jordan.

He attended the Union County Public Schools and graduated from Monroe High School Class of 1983.  He later attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, where he received his degree in Radio and Television.  In December 2010, he received his Masters Degree in Science Information, specializing in Information Assurance.  He was presently in the last stage of a doctoral degree in Internet Securities.

Eric joined Flag Branch Missionary Baptist  Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. E.H. Martin.  He was one who loved being in church.

He was active in several organizations; PMI, BMA, Toastmasters, and his biggest love was the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, INC.  He became a member of the Rock Hill, SC Kappa Alpha Chapter Fall 1992.  He held several positions in the chapter and a faithful member of the fraternal organization.

He leaves to cherish his love and memories, his parents; Margaret Kilgo Jordan and Ecxell Jordan of the home; sister, Judy Lynn Jordan of the home; aunts, Mazell J. Miller, Betty J. Robinson and Violet Stinson;  uncles, JW Jordan and Heath Jordan; god daughter, NeRiqua H. Jennings, Jamee' and Nyah Hailey; gret-goddaughter; NeKennah Jennings, and a host of cousins and friends.
