Ethel Eddye (Redfern) Mccall

MRS. ETHEL EDDYE REDFERN MCCALL 77, of MONROE, NC, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 501 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC 28110.  Interment will follow in the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Born in Union, NC, she was a daughter of the late Baxter Redfern and Gracie Mae Rakestraw Winchester and husband Edward. Eddye was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, NC and was a retired employee of Manetta Mills, Inc. in Monroe, NC. She had deep faith in the Lord and a huge heart and a very kind spirit.  Eddye was preceded in death by her parents  and husband, Mr.Thomas McCall, Sr.

She leaves fond and cherished memories to one daughter, Deborah A. Hughes of Fort Bragg,  NC; two sons, Robert C. Hughes and James H. Hughes and wife Helen, all of Monroe, NC; one brother, Henry "Buster" Winchester and wife, Melinda all of Monroe, NC; five grandchildren, Christina, Carolyn, Crystal, Ryan and James Hughes, Jr., six great-grandchildren, Sanai, Serenity, Rodquiez, Jaheim, Trinity and Phoenix; special grandchildren,  Scottie, Sherry, Misha, Masha and a number of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
