Evelina (Mason) Robinson

November 23, 1950 — January 10, 2018

MRS. EVELINA MASON ROBINSON, 67 of MONROE, NC ​passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home.

​Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018 at New Living Word Discipleship, 7513 Brooms Old Mill Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173. Interment wil follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.

​A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, January 12, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Evelina was the daughter of Mrs. Thelma Moore Mason and the late William Franklin Mason, Sr.  She was born on Thursday, November 23, 1950 in Charlotte, NC.  She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at her home in Monroe, NC.  She was united in marriage to Willie Thomas Robinson, Sr., on August 6, 1976 in Griffin, Georgia.

She graduated from Harry P. Harding High School in Charlotte in 1969, and a graduate of Southern Piedmont Community College in 2007, where she received her associates degree.  She was employed with Dudley Products for over eight years, working in sales in Charlotte, Atlanta and Chicago.  She was a childcare worker, director the After School Program at New Town Road Elementary School for almost nine years until her retirement in 2016.

She was serving several churches, Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church, Charlotte, NC, Piney Grove West Baptist Church, Waxhaw, NC, Covenant Life Center, Monroe, NC and she published a book, Let's Act It Out", Character Building Skits and Plays for the Christian Community, published by Outskirts Press in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers-in-law Sam E. Townsend, James Robinson, Jr., and Danny Robinson; three sisters-in-law; Alice Thompson, Josephine Houston and Mae Frances Faulkner.

She was married to the love of her life, Willie Thomas Robinson, Sr., and to this union two children were born; Melissa Tiffany Robinson and a "mirror image" of his father, Willie Thomas Robinson, Jr., both of Monroe, NC;

She leaves to cherish life long memories to her daughter and son, Melissa and Willie Jr., as well her mother, Thelma Moore Mason of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Jean M. Chlsholm, Thelma M. Townsend and Laura A. Mason, all of Charlotte, NC; two brothers William F. Mason, Jr., and Melvin E. Mason, all of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, including three grandsons, Judah Kedar Robinson Horne, Asante Khaleak Marsh and Bentley Thomas Robinson; two granddaughters, Aariel-Elana Robinson-Horne and Ziyel T'lae Hailey.  Evelina also leaves to cherish her memories to a faithful sister-in-law and best friend, Berthenia Robinson of Monroe, NC; and sister-in-law Daphne Robinson of Charlotte, NC; two brothers and sisters-in-law George Robinson and wife Patricia of Mineral Springs, NC and Harold "Mitchell" Robinson and wife Tracy of Charlotte, NC; a loving god-daughter, Allene Cheree Robinson of Monroe, NC;  god-son, Jemale Faulkner of Myrtle Beach, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
