Everlene (Digsby) Medlin

MRS. EVERLENE DIGSBY MEDLIN, 73 of MATTHEWS, NC died Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home.  Funeral Services will be held 1pm Friday, February 7, 2014 at True Gospel Prayer Temple Holiness Church, 3820 Sally Lane, Charlotte, NC 28227 with Family Visitation to be held 12 noon to 1pm prior to the service at the church, Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC.  Public viewing will be held 12 noon to 7pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 at  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born Monday, September 4, 1940 in Mecklenburg County, NC a daughter of the late William and Emma Richardson Digsby.  At an early age she joined New St. John Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC and later in her life she joined  The Prayer Band which later became True Gospel Prayer Temple Holiness Church where she was a faithful member for over 40 years and served as Mother of the Church, also attented J.H. Gunn High School and was married to the late Frank Medlin for 47 years.  Preceding her in death also were her parents;five sisters; Pauline Digsby, Dorothy Hunter, Emma Lowe, Louise Arrington and Doris Givens and one brother; James Digsby.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her 10 children; Ronald Digsby (Ann) of Rock Hill, SC,Ricky Medlin (Robin) of Monroe, NC, Gracie Montgomery (Freddie) of Matthews, NC, Lisa Gaines of Matthews, NC, Beverly Joiner (Jewel) of Indian Trail, NC, Teresa Joiner (Allen) of Matthews, NC, Frank Medlin, Jr. of the home, Emma Wilson (Robert) of Charlotte, NC, Tiwana Anthony (Edward) of Stallings, NC and Latisha Medlin of the home; one brother; Walter Lee Digsby (Dorothy) of Charlotte, NC  two sisters; Cheryle Lee (Lewis) and Ruby Dean (Roger) both of Charlotte, NC; 24 Grandchildren and 14 Great-grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
