MS. FANNIE RUTH EWING, 77 of MT. GILEAD, NC passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at First Health  / Richmond Memorial Hospital, Rockingham, NC.

Graveside Services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Parson Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 561 Teddar Rd., MT. Gilead, NC  (Exway Community).

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a face mask or facial covering. Also use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A Public Viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, January 15, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC.

Ms. Fannie  Ruth Ewing was born on Friday, August 6, 1943 in Richmond County, NC, to the late John F. Ewing and Thelma L. Ewing.  She departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 10, 2021, in the Firsthealth Richmond Memorial Hospital, Rockingham, NC.

Ruth accepted Christ at an early age at Parson Grove Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and also served on the Kitchen Committee until her health began to decline.

Ruth , as she was fondly known to everyone, attended the public schools of Richmond County. Ruth was employed with McRae Industries and Russell Hosiery Mill for many years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her partner and husband, Burlee Fairley; son, Jerome Ewing; parents, John F. and Thelma Ewing; sister, Ella Jean Miller and brother, William L. "Bill" Ewing.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memories to one devoted son, Jamie Ewing (Sharon McAuley) of Richmond County, NC; four grandchildren, Rosaline Diggs of Charlotte, NC; Jamuel Ewing of Mt. Gilead, NC, Shakira Ewing and Jauwauna Ewing, both of Troy, NC; two great-grands, Shy'kireuna and Zuleikha; four sisters, Geneva Gaines (Herbert) of Mt. Gilead, NC, Barbara Bowden and Lucille Bailey (Kelly) all of High Point, NC and Iris Ewing of Asheboro, NC; four brothers, John Ed Ewing (Addie) of Mt. Gilead, NC, James Ewing (Yolanda) of Atlantic City, NJ, George Ewing of Asheboro, NC, and Tommy Ewing (Betty) of Hamlet, NC; special friends, Ethel Stanback, Mabel Freeman, Mattie Thomas, Brenda Robinson and Amy Dumas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
