He was a faithful member of Sidney Grove Church of Deliverance in Ellerbe, NC before relocating to Montgomery County and joining St. Luke Church of God in Mt. Gilead, NC.
Prior to his illness, Freddie was formerly employed as a truck driver for Stanley Furniture in West End and Shawn's Reliable Garbage Pick-up in Mt. Gilead, NC.
Those left to cherish his memory are five sisters; Eva Dykes of Mt. Gilead, NC, Mary McRae of Albemarle, Katie Johnson and Bertha Miller, both of Newport News, VA and Sandra Barnaby of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers; Melvin "Hawk" Stanback of Albemarle, NC, James " Stick-Man" Stanback (Joanna) of High Point, NC and Billy " Bubba" Stanback (Patricia) of Hempstead, NY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Freddie was kind, caring and thoughful person. His love for life extended beyond his own needs and he always had a desire to help others. He enjoyed helping others through acts of kindness such as lawn care, landscaping and home improvement; and the only pay that was required was a " Pepsi and a smile". He will be greatly missed, but he will live in our hearts and dreams forever. We will meet again.
