Gene Edward Brewer

Mr. Gene Edward Brewer, 68 of Monroe, NC died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at his home.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 501 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC, Reverend Larry W. Leak, Pastor, Eulogist, Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

Born August 24, 1944 a son of the late Margaret Brewer Barbour and William B. Covington, Sr. and he was raised by the late Hoyle Brewer, Sr. and Waunita Livingston Brewer.

Gene attended Winchester Avenue School and was a Auto Mechanic by trade and he loved to work on Cars.  He was a member  of  Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he loved his Pastor and Church family. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Grandparents and three brothers; Charles Barbour, Johnny Barbour and William Junoir Covington.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his wife; Moristine Ham Brewer of the home; five sisters Barbara Brewer Byrum, Corlen (Jerry) Hubbard, Birdie (Carlton) Marsh, Arlene Grace and Monica (Olin) Black; four brothers; Edward (Laverne) Covington, Ray (Jackie) Massey, William A. (Ingrid) Covington and Anthony Covington; sisters-in-law; Everlina Bryant, Gloria Bryant, frances Pride, Rutha Bryant and Christine Ham; brothers-n-law J.B. Ham, Charles Ham, Jimmy Ham and Andrew Ham; God-daughters, Sherry David and Sylvia White, God-grandaughter, Vanity Latriece White; three special friends; Michael Collins, Marion Sutton and Larry Clyburn and s host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC
