George Thomas Crowder, Sr.

MR. GEORGE THOMAS CROWDER, SR., 72 of CHARLOTTE, NC passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 318 Camden Rd., Marshville, NC 28103, Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  A public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Friday, April 3, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in Union County, NC, Sunday, March 21, 1943 a son of the late Lee and Arey Sassafras Crowder.  George joined Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was educated in the public schools of Union County, NC and was a 1963 Graduate of East Union High School in Marshville, NC .  After graduation he moved North and became a succesful Truck Driver where he drove for over 40 years.  He was a loving Father, Uncle and Friend, he had a compassion for everyone he would meet and that was only one of many wonderful qualities he had. Preceding him in death was his Parents; Three Brothers and Four Sisters.

He leave to chrish fond and loving memories to his two children; Karen Frazier (Butch) of Marshville, NC and George T. Crowder, Jr. (Rose) of Pageland, SC; Three grandchildren; Kayla Carpenter ( Chris), Dreama Frazier and Marques Dwayne Allen; Four Sisters; Ossie L. Perry of High Point, NC, Viola Hammonds of Monroe, NC, Wincey Chambers of Baltimore, MD and Eula Ross "Peggy" Covington (Barry) of Wingate, NC; Two Sisters in Laws and a host of Nieces, Nephews other realtives and friends.
