Georgianna (Staton) Hall

September 30, 1938 — November 5, 2019

MRS. GEORGIANNA STATON HALL, 81 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 501 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC. Reverend Larry W. Leake, Pastor,Officiating, Minister Angela Hall (Daughter), Eulogist.  Mrs. Hall remains will lie in repose 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Polkton, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Hall, Staton and extended families.

A native of Anson County, NC born Friday, September 30, 1938 to the late  George and Queen Esther Hubbard Staton. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, mother and friend. A graduate of Winchester High School, Monroe, NC where she was Valedictorian of the Class of 1957, not only did she excel academically she was also a Basketball Superstar playing point gaurd for the Winchester Buffaloes. Georgianna went on to work several jobs, but finally settled and retired from Belk's Department Store in Monroe, NC, as a Sales Associate after 25 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe, NC, where she served in the Senior Ministries, the Bright Stars Choir and the Ushers Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and  two sisters; Helen Staton and Magdalene Richarsdon.

Georgianna leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to continue her legacy  two daughters; Janet Hall Simpson (Robert) of Charlotte, NC and Angela Hall of Orlando, FL; two sisters; Maxine Hubbard of Monroe, NC and Rosemary Staton Hood of Charlotte, NC; two beloved grandchildren; TSGT Jasmine Simpson of Seoul, South Korea, United States Air Force and SP4 Bakaari Simpson of Vilseck, Germany, United States Army and a special niece; Mary Charlotte Staton of Monroe, NC; In addition Georgianna leaves her special friends, Janie Robinson and Doris Massey and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
