MRS. GLADYS ANITA BARNES CROUTCH, 77 of MONROE, NC passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at Atrium Health / Union in Monroe, NC.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 621 E. Lawers Rd., Unionville, NC. (Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the service are to wear a mask / facial covering for the saftey of the public, also during the Public Viewing at the Chapel and please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when you enter and exit the Chapel Thank You).
A Public Viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2020 at t Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Croutch, Barnes and extended families.
Gladys Anita Barnes Croutch, a daughter of the late Deboyce Chambers and Isabell Nickelson Barnes, was born on Monday, November 30, 1942, in Union County, North Carolina.
Gladys was a faithful member of Union Chapel Baptist Church, where she was called by the Lord to do His work as a Deaconess and a membr of the Senior Choir. She touched many lived and inspite of her battle with asthma or any other obstacles that crossed her path, she never complained.
She was a graduate of Winchester High School. She was employed with Unionville Elementary School, where she was employed for 20 years in the custodial department.
Gladys was married to the late Robert Croutch, who preceded her in death November 6, 2018, were married for more than 50 years and to this union five children were born. Those preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, was a sister, Maxine Roberts. She will be sorely missed.
She leaves cherished memories to her children, Rhonda Caldwell (Gary) of Charlotte, NC, Wanda Croutch of Monroe, NC, Rodney Croutch (Tanya) of Rock Hill, SC, Sophia Black (Norman) and Dionne Croutch (James), all of Wingate, NC; one brother, Coleman Barnes of Monroe, NC; special niece, Regina Roberts of Charlotte, NC and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
