Harold Baldwin

July 13, 1950 — April 27, 2018

MR. HAROLD BALDWIN, 67 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Novant Health / Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 4:00 pm Friday, May 4, 2018 at the  Leah Richter Levin Memorial Auditorium, 102 S. School St., Mount Gilead, NC 27306.

Military Honors and Interment will follow in the Parson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Mount Gilead, NC.

A public veiwing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Mount Gilead, NC whom is serving the Baldwin, Scarborough and extended family.

Harold was born on Thursday July 13, 1950, to Robert Davis Sr., and Gertrude Scarborough Baldwin in Montgomery County, NC.

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Parson Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  He faithfully watched televangelist Joel Osteen every Sunday.  He attended the public schools of Montgomery County and graduated from Peabody High School, Troy.  He later attended Montgomery Community College where he received his mechanical training and received certifications. Harold was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired after 25 years from Alcoa Badin Works in Badin, where he was a Millwright mechanic.

Harold was united in Holy Matrimony to Bertha Mae Leake on November 30, 1969, and to this union, three children were born.  She preceded him in death in May 1976.  He later married Stacey Denise Little on July 22, 1979, and to this union two children were born.  He was loved and will be sorely missed by family, friends and every one he met through his walk of life.

Hobbies and interests included, faithfully watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, local and world news, the Carolina Panthers, politics, fishing, hunting, working on cars, drag racing, riding his Harley Davidson (back in the day) and running from the law just like "J ohn Wayne in Stage Coach.".  A man who always wanted to make you smile.  He loved his children and grandchildren who they called " Papa". He was predeceased by his first wife, Bertha; parents, Robert Sr., and Gertrude; two sisters, Carolyn Dockery and Teena Baldwin and on brother, Vernon Baldwin.

Those left to cherish and to honor his memory are his wife, Stacey Little Baldwin of Mount Gilead , NC; his devoted children, Sophia Baldwin of Capitol Heights, MD, Harold Baldwin (Carol Capel -Baldwin) of Rockingham, NC , Tammie Baldwin of Capitol Heights, MD, Porfirio D. Baldwin of Mount Gilead, NC, Fondue C. Baldwin (Rachel Durst-Baldwin) of Richmond, VA, and Tyrell Caviness of Mount Gilead, NC; brothers, Robert Baldwin, Jr., of Monroe, NC Paul Baldwin of Mount Gilead, NC and Earl Baldwin of Winston Salem, NC; 6 grandchildren, Jashara Baldwin of the home, Farrakhan Muhammad of Capitol Heights, MD,  Alsteen "Zaza" Baldwin of Mount Gilead, NC, Kennedy Baldwin of Richmond, VA and Carolyn Capel of Rockingham, NC, 6 brothers and 6 sisters in law, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
