Hattie Mae (Byrams) Huey

MRS. HATTIE MAE BYRAMS HUEY, 79 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at her home.  Funeral Services will be held 4pm Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 503 Maurice St., Monroe, NC 28112, Bishop Osco E. Gardin, Jr. Pastor, Eulogist.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.  A public viewing will  be held 11am to 7pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Bruce and Frances Funderburk Byrams.  She joined the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and served on various committes until her health began to fail. Ms. Hattie attended Winchester Schools and was married to the late Wilson Huey.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to one daughter; Debra Huey of the home; two sons; Wilson Huey (Mary) of Monroe, NC and Bruce Huey (Sarah) of Wingate, NC; Seven children she loved and raised William Elliott (Rita) of Huntersville, NC, Marilyn Elliott, Clayton Elliott and James Lewis Elliott all of Charlotte, NC, Kevin Elliott (Vickie) of Monroe, NC, T.J. Elliott and Julie Lane both of Concord, NC; Eight Grandchildren;Eleven Great-grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews other relatives and dear friends. Special friends of the family Ms. Cynthia McLendon, Mrs. Virginia Reed and Mrs. Frances Marshall.
