Helen Dianne (Young) Shaw

MS. HELEN DIANNE YOUNG SHAW, 72 of TROY, NC died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC.  A Graveside Service will be held 2pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Southside Cemetery in Troy, NC.  A public viewing will be held 12noon to 7pm Monday, August 11, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Dianne, as she was fondly called, was born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, on  Sunday, April, 19, 1924, to the late Tommy and Helen Litaker Young.  She attended the public schools of Montgomery County and had been employed by Smitherman's Cotton Mill, Montgomery County Court House and Autumn Care of Biscoe.  She was a member of Troy Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Troy, NC.  She always had a dynamite smile and will be sorely missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jesse Shaw, a sister, Sarah Steele McIntyre and a brother, Johnny Jay Young.

Dianne Shaw leaves to cherish her everlasting memories to her seven children; daughters, Barbara Shaw Mohammed of Charlotte, NC, Nancy Shaw of Troy, NC; sons; Ronnie Shaw, Jamie Shaw, Jesse Shaw,  and Curtis Shaw, all of Troy, NC and Ricky Allen Shaw, of Chicago, IL; Step-father, Robert Young of Troy, NC; a sister, Enid Chappell of Troy, NC; two brothers; Robert Lee Young, Jr., of Troy, NC and Carl Young, Boston, MA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren;  two aunts, Lillie Ruth Young of Troy, NC and Virginia Green, of Mt. Gilead, NC; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.

Dianne Shaw was a mother and good friend to the entire community.

Dianne Shaw had a warm heart and spirit.

She left an everlasting memory on all of us.

She always greeter you with a beautiful smile.

A warm hug with kind words of encouragement.

You will always be missed by your family and friends.
