Henry Eric Lee, born to Mary Frances Buchanon Lee and James Ellis Rorie, on Sunday, August 23, 1959. Eric attended Forest High School and was a long time landscape employee with Willow Branch. Eric took great pride in tending to the lawns and yards of those who benefited from his work through his work through the years.
Known and loved by many, Eric was thoughtful, compassionate, caring and devoted to his family. He found joy in bringing happiness into the lives of the many who had the good fortune to know, love and be loved by him and was genuinely one of the nicest persons on earth. He willingly and lovingly offered his support to everyone and assisted many of his friends and family through the darkest moments of their lives. If he thought it would help, he wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off his own back as that was the kind of person he was. Although God has called him home, his spirit will live on in the lives of all those beloved family and friends he leaves behind.
An avid fisherman, Eric could be foind at one of the local fishing holes where he was at peace and often at his happiest as he shared this love with many family members and rarely went alone. Eric was a lover of cars, particularly Volkswagens and had a collection of miniature cars. Perhaps his greatest love was the music of Bob Marley. In addition to listening to music, Eric could often be found wearing a t-shirt doning the face of this musical icon with whom he had a lot in common, particularly his calm, quiet demeanor.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sisters, Pamela Doster (James) of Monroe, NC and Sheema Gillespie of Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Louis Roger Lee of Monroe, NC and Willie Lee (Lillie) of Charlotte, NC; one uncle, Jack Buchanon of Peachland, Nc; 9 nieces, Anita Hailey of Marshville, NC, Joe Elaine Hailey of Wingate, NC, Melvia Hailey of Atlanta, GA, Christie Holmes of Charlotte, NC, Monica Sharee Lee of Monroe, NC, Sheena Lee-Bell and Angela McClurnkin, both of Charlotte, NC, Tia Hailey of Wadesboro, NC and Karrie Hailey of Polkton, NC; 3 nephews, Clyde Coleman of Charlotte, NC, Michael Brian Hailey and Tyrone Lee, both of Wingate, NC; one great-nephew, Joshua Gaither of Monroe, NC; 4 great-great-nieces who were like his grandchildren, Camiya Gaither of Charlotte, NC, Jaila Gaither and Lai'la Gaither, both of Monroe, NC and Jah-Dahia Richardson of Monroe, NC.
Though Eric had no biological children, he shared a home for many years with his niece, Monica Sharee Lee and great-nephew, Joshua Gaither, and loved and treated them as his own until the end of his life.
Among those who remain to carry Eric's legacy forward are his best friend, Sherman Robinson of Monroe, NC; special friends Ken and Kim Robinson of Monroe, NC and his fishing buddy, James Franklin Pone of Wingate, NC and a host of cousins and friends.
