MR. HENRY DELBERT MARSH, 83 of WAXHAW, NC passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home.
A Memorial Service in his honor will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 700 Miller St., Waxhaw, NC.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service are required to wear a mask or facial covering.)

Henry Delbert Marsh , was born on February 24, 1938, to mother Wilma Haritha Rushing Marsh and father, Henry Columbus Marsh. Known to his many family and friends as "Deb" and to his grandchildren, "Pawpaw" . He was born and raised in Marshville, NC.
His first home church was Elizabeth Baptist Church in Marshville, NC. When he moved to Waxhaw in the 1960's, his home church became Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. He faithfully served at Mt. Nebo as the Adult Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and a Deacon.
Henry had an early career in truck driving with Bigger Brothers until sickness with rheumatic fever befell him. After God freed him from his illness, he sought education at Central Piedmont Community College, where he pursued a career in automobile mechanics. He took great pride in his family life, spiritual life, career, and an outdoor love of gardening.
He was a devoted husband, father, and Deacon of the church and well known as a kindhearted and compassionate person. If he wasn't working or at the church, you would find him working on a car or some where else in the yard or gardening. He was a longtime fan of the Washington Redskins.
Henry met the love of his life and lifetime companion, Oleatha Flemming Freeman Marsh in 1961. To this union was born a son James Darrick Marsh (deceased) and a daughter Debra Ann Marsh. He was preceded in death by his wife Oleatha Marsh; son, Darrick Marsh; parents Wilma and Henry Marsh and sisters, Bobbie Chambers, Cynthia Marsh and Ruthenia Marsh.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted daughter, that cared for him through the end of his days, Debra Marsh of Waxhaw, NC; grandchildren, Kamala Lee (Lionel) of Decatur, GA, Chad Lee (Amiricle), Jason Marsh and Dianna Marsh, all of Monroe, NC, LaCardie Sturgis (Kayla) of Catawba , SC; sisters, Kelyn Huntley of Charlotte, NC, Bonnie Doster (Max) of Naples, FL, Augustine Tolbert (Johnny) of Decatur, GA , Mary Marsh and Teresa Richardson (Warren) of Brown Summit, NC; brothers, Olin Marsh (Betty) and Charles Marsh (Patricia), all of Marshville, NC; 10 grandchildren; childhood friend, Jessie Kilgo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
