Hosea Monroe

MR. HOSEA MONROE, 51, of  MT. GILEAD, NC, (Wadeville Community) passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Roper Grove AME Zion Church, 196 Roper Grove Church Road, MT. Gilead, NC,  Interment will  follow in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of MT Gilead, NC who is serving the Monroe, Peterkin, and extended families.

Hosea, a son of Annette Peterkin Monroe and the late Robert Earl Monroe, was born on Friday, July 19, 1968, in Montgomery County, NC.

Hosea attended the public schools of Montgomery County and was a graduate of West Montgomery High School Class of 1986.  He furthered his education at Montgomery Community College, Troy, NC.

Hosea confessed Christ at an early age and joined Roper Grove AME Zion Church.

He was formerly married to Ms. Desiree McCauley and to this union five children were born.  They as a family, became members of St. Luke Holiness Church, Mt. Gilead, NC, where Hosea rededicated his life to Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, daughter, Bridgett Monroe; grandmothers, Johnsie Baldwin and Bessie Peterkin; and a very special friend, Ella Hammond.

Hosea leaves to cherish loving memories to his mother, Mrs. Annette Peterkin Monroe of the home; his sons, Minister Marvin McCauley (Shannon) and Troy Monroe, all of Albemarle, NC, Emanuel McCauley (LaTia) of Oakboro, NC and Nijel Monroe of Boone,NC; his two granddaughters, Autumn and Miracle; brother, Robert Monroe of the home; aunts, Verlina Collins of Mt. Gilead, NC, Margie LeGrande of Candor, NC and Reba Peterkin of Richmond, VA; special cousin, Colten Peterkin of the home; special buddy, Mike Nicholson of Mt. Gilead, NC and a host of cousins and friends.
