Hubert Lee ("Frog") Bowden

MR. HUBERT LEE " Frog" BOWDEN, 72 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the  Leah Richter Levin Memorial Auditorium, 102 S. School St., Mount Gilead, NC 27306.  Interment following in the Roper Grove AME Zion Church Cemetery in Mount Gilead, NC.

A public vieiwng will be held 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, March 9, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Mount Gilead, NC.

Mr. Hubert Lee Bowden, a son of the late Lonnie and Naomi McAuley Bowden, was born on Friday, June 15, 1945 in Montgomery County, NC.

"Frog" , as he was called by family and friends, attended the public schools of Montgomery County and entered the work force in the logging industry for most of his life.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Lisa Kay Crouch; brothers, James Edward "Sam" Bowden, Cleodies "Beaver" Bowden, Jimmy Ray "High Roller" Bowden, Franklin Bowden,, William Roy Bowden (Polly) and one sister, Fannie Lee "Dean" Bowden Shepherd; one niece, Priscilla Shepherd Stanback and brother in law, Bobby Shepherd.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Nettie Lee Crouch Bowden of Norwood, NC,; two sons, Hubert Crouch (Lizzie Little Crouch) of Lilesville, NC and Charles David Crouch (Faye) of Mt. Gilead, NC; five grandchildren, KeAira Crouch of Salisbury, NC, Debbie Crouch of Norwood, NC, Ariel Saunders (Ashley) of Lexington, NC, Antoine Crouch of Ellerbe, NC and Shaquille Medley; five great-grandchildren, Grayson Sledge, Alasia Little, Jasmen Crouch, Ashleigh Saunders, Courtlyn Saunders; one sister, Evangelist Lola Bowden Tyson of Mt. Gilead, NC; two brothers, Lonnie Bowden, Jr. ( Geraldine,) of Raleigh,  NC and Minister Frank Bowden (Virginia) of Jackson Springs, NC; three sisters in law, Shirley Bowden, Marcia Bowden and Lou Crouch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
