Mr. Hubert Henry Hughes, 67 of Wingate, NC died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Black's Memorial Presbyterian Church, 509 S. Parker St., Monroe, NC, Intement will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.

Born in Union County, NC, October 4, 1945 a son of the late Willie and Ella Louise Rushing Hughes, a 1963 graduate of Winchester High School and Owner of Hughes Carpet and Janitorial Service.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Velma, his son Michael (Angie) Hughes of Surfside Beach, SC; his daughter; Paula (Frederick) Bess of Wingate, NC; Granddaughter Jasmine Bess of Wingate, NC; his brother Robert Hughes of Asheville, NC; two sisters; Dorothy (James) Wright of Monroe, NC Christine Arrington of Carrolton, MD; two sisters in law; Mary Hart of Columbia, SC and Linda Garrett of St. Paul, MN; two brothers in law; Charles Garrett of Brooklyn, NY and David Garrett of Charlotte, NC; two aunts; Mary Logan of Avonia, VA and Evelyn Hyatt of Springfield Garden, NY and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.

In Lieu of Flowers Memorials ma be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 E. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.

Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.
